We are at the Market Hall, Market Place, Stockport, SK1 1ES. Nearby landmarks are St Mary’s Church and Staircase House museum and tourist information office.
Did you know, there is a lift in Sports Direct linking the Market Place with the Merseyway Shopping Centre?
Bus / Train
The Market Hall is a short walk (roughly 10 to 15 mins) from Stockport bus and railway stations. Visit Transport for Greater Manchester to plan your journey. From the stations, head down St Petersgate towards the historic Market Place.
Alternatively there is the FREE Metroshuttle bus (300) which runs through Stockport town centre from 8am to 6pm (10.30am to 5pm on a Sunday) every 15 minutes. It takes approx 20 minutes to reach the stop by the Market Place. See route map below.
The nearest car parks are Newbridge Lane, Churchgate, and Asda. Parking charges apply.
There are two cycle hubs in Stockport, one at the NCP car park at Stockport Railway Station and the other at Tiviot Dale near Merseyway. The hubs provide secure, undercover parking and access to lockers for a small annual (or daily) fee. There are also cycle stands around Stockport town centre. These are shown on the map below.
When parking your bike look for secure, immovable cycle parking which is bolted securely or embedded into the ground. This should allow you to lock both your frame and your wheels to the stand.
