Stockport Council are inviting you to comment on their proposal to remove the funding for the free town centre shuttlebus

Click this link to go to their survey: https://consultation.stockport.gov.uk/policy-performance-and-reform/metroshuttle-consultation/

It takes around 5 minutes to complete. Closing date for responses is 18th January

Background:

The Town Centre Metroshuttle bus provides free transport for people who need to travel around the town centre. The service currently operates seven days a week, Monday to Saturday: 8am to 6pm and Sunday: 10:30am to 5pm, every 15 minutes.

The proposal is that the Council would no longer fund this service. This would mean it would no longer be available from April 2019.

This proposal is part of the Council’s Medium Term Financial Plan (MTFP), which sets out how the Council will manage their budget to become financially self-sufficient.

Typically useless Stockport council thinking. I enjoyed telling them that on their online form which they will ignore anyway.
